Check Out Nietzsche’s Death Mask

Death masks are casts made of a person’s face after death. They were often reserved for highest rung of society such as nobility, monarchs, and artists.

The mask was commissioned by Count Harry Kessler. It was made by Curt Stoeving, who had painted an earlier portrait of Nietzsche (below). At least it’s not as creepy as Jeremy Bentham’s skeleton.
